At the start of this year, I posted a holiday blog on my girly getaway to the North Yorkshire Moors. During our trip, we visited the incredible Town of York, and stumbled upon The Yorkshire Soap Company. After discovering this quaint little shop full of luxury soaps and delightful gifts, I fell in love with their deliciously scented products.
I noticed on their twitter feed that they were looking for bloggers to get in contact to discuss their products. Step in, Rianna Elizabeth. Due to previously spending at least an hour in their York store, sniffing and whiffing all the heavenly soaps and smellies, I knew I had to get in contact with them. Overwhelmingly, hundreds of bloggers applied and after having a lovely conversation with The Yorkshire Soap Co.’ team, voila, I was selected to do a write up.
Specialising in affordable luxury, The Yorkshire Soap Company have a variety of handmade artisan soaps, bath truffles and other divine products you want to lather all over your hands and body. The first thing that attracted me whilst walking along Blake Street had to be the bubbles. I am talking real bubbles, floating dreamily outside of their shop door. The second obvious attraction was the smell, the light, fresh and enticing scent floated outside of the shop, grabbed me by the nostrils, and that was the end of that! The third attraction, cake! Not real cake, soap cake! Cakes shaped like cupcakes placed on glass tiered cake stands. Soap slices in a variety of delicious fragrances including Strawberry Cream, Lemon Fizz and Apple Blossom. The whole shop itself reminded me of a patisserie.
Owners Marcus Doyle and Warren Booth founded the company in 2004 after creating soap gifts for family and friends around their kitchen table. Unable to afford all the expensive tools and equipment required at the time, they experimented using baking cases and cake moulds. The rest they say is history. Marcus and Warren are still just as involved with the running of the business, you can tell by the social media posts and fabulous website the friendly and family oriented style the company has.
My wedding planner eye spied the homemade soap Wedding Favours, however it was the Soap Wedding Cakes that really stood out. I had not seen these anywhere else before. Who needs sponge or fruit cake, when you can take home a 3, 4 or 5 tier soap cake which can be cut into slices for your guests to take home and enjoy. Soap Wedding Cake’s start at £150 for a 3 tier, this gives you around 70 favours working out at around £2.15 each.
Every seasonal event of the year they release novel products that are perfect for gifts. Mother’s Day is fast approaching and when it comes to gift ideas you are spoilt for choice. Choose from their Mother’s Day luxury Gift Hamper, gift boxes filled with Artisan Soap Slices or Real Rose Bud Bath Truffles.
Their Mother’s Day Soap Cupcake which literally looks good enough to eat, comes beautifully presented in a delightful handbag gift box. The decadent Yorkshire Soap Co.’ logo is displayed on the front of the quaint little box and the cute gift tag attached. Fragranced with their signature Yorkshire Rose scent which leaves your skin feeling soft, silky and smelling divine. Priced at £5.00 I think this is incredible value for money especially due to the luxurious gift box.
If you are looking for a Mother’s Day gift with a selection of luxurious treats, I would highly recommend the Artisan Soap Classic Collection. This delightful collection includes three stunning artisan soap slices that are so beautiful I almost wanted to put them in a display case. The Lavender Flowers slice topped with real Lavender flowers is aromatic yet not too overpowering, the dreamy lavender scent lingers beautifully on your hands. The Yorkshire Rose slice is something very special, and one of the prettiest soap bars I have ever seen. Real rose buds lay delicately across the top, creating a little blanket of loveliness. I am a huge fan of rose scented products and this is sweet, delicate, and feminine. It reminds me of Rose turkish delight, yum! The third in this collection is by far my favourite, if you are fan of zesty, citrus scents the Seville Orange bar is absolute perfection. Fruity, fresh and so delicious I considered sinking my teeth into it. The Artisan Soap Classic Collection is priced at £15.00 which includes the gorgeous pink gift box.
Lastly, when I visited the Yorkshire Soap Company on my little trip to York last November, I purchased one of their lovely Bath Truffles. After a long day at work there really is nothing better than running a hot bath, pouring a glass of vino, and soaking for about 2 hours. The Night Night Sweetheart Bath Truffle envelopes you in a delicious cloud of Pear, Pomegranate and Plum. The ingredients include cocoa butter and sweet almond oil, this left my skin feeling soft, silky and moisturised. Priced at £2.50 each you have a variety of fragrances to choose from including Orange Cream, Cherry Kisses and Violet Sparkle. If you want to buy a selection of these lovely Bath Truffles, the gift boxes start at £9.50.
Each one of the Yorkshire Soap Company’s products are made from natural ingredients and are beautifully gift wrapped. Their gift boxes are so lovely it almost felt a shame unwrapping them. Usually when shopping online you have to pay extra for a gift wrapping service. When ordering any of the Yorkshire Soap Company’s gorgeous products online, gift wrapping is included and delivered with care.
As well as their Mother’s Day gift ideas and artisan soaps, they also have a variety of home scents, perfumes and body care products. I highly recommend a visit to their website where you can see their incredible range. If you fancy visiting one of their lovely stores you can find them in York, Leeds, Knaresborough and Hebden Bridge.
