I have been dying to share this incredible wedding with you. Last May our beautiful friends Emma and Jake tied the knot at the Great Lodge in Essex.
Great Lodge is a stunning rural estate in the Essex countryside, once owned by Anne of Cleves. The Anne of Cleves Barn is the perfect setting for a ceremony and evening reception. In the summer months you can take advantage of the beautiful Walled Garden and even have outdoor ceremonies beside the lake and vineyard.
Emma and Jake went above and beyond when it came to planning their special day, without the help of a planner! The wedding party, including myself helped bring everything together on the day. Emma and Jake made the majority of the decorations from scratch, sign-writing, providing a Pimp your Prosecco stall and even brought in the furniture from their bar at home to recreate ‘Maroneys Bar’ which is an anagram of their surnames.
Instead of hiring a professional florists, Emma and Jake sourced dried flowers from the Artisan Dried Flowers and Essentially Hops and created the bouquet, bridesmaid posies, ceremony and dining table arrangements. They even placed dried petals in light bulbs and hung them from the beams in the barn. During the lead up to the wedding Emma and Jake also ordered hundreds of vintage crockery items, they ended up with such a variety, they launched a Vintage Crockery Hire website directly after the wedding.
Photographer Jess Soper captured Emma and Jake’s wedding day beautifully and I am so excited to share their wedding images with you. Thank you Emma and Jake for letting me share your special day with my readers and most importantly thank you for letting me be a part of it.
