Ah Valentines Day, the day where restaurants create incredibly expensive ‘romantic’ set menus and florists charge an arm and a leg for a wilting bunch of roses. I think back to primary school days when everything seemed much more fun and a lot less stressful. I remember the red ‘Valentines Day Letter Box’ arriving in the school hall where you can post your chosen soppy card to send to your one true love. You know the one, the 7 year old in P.E class who you were going to spend the rest of your life with!.
Every year I say, “I hate Valentine’s Day”, along with the majority of my girlfriends, however males take note. I have come to learn that if we say “don’t get us anything”, deep down we probably don’t mean it. I saw this happen with my very own eyes once. My mother informed my father she did not want a gift or silly card, he in all fairness took this as gospel and did not purchase anything for her. Let’s just say he was making up for it for a very, very long time. However in spite of this I still think Valentines Day can be incredibly overpriced and it really doesn’t need to be. We only have 4 days left so I have listed a few fun and flirty gift ideas that you can order in time for the ‘most romantic day of the year’.
